Structural REVIT Designer

IFAB Engineering Partners Ltd. is seeking serious applicants to fill the role of Structural REVIT Designer. Work is performed in collaboration with a full complement of designers and engineers from a variety of disciplines. Reporting to the Structural Engineering Team Lead, the Structural REVIT Designer will provide structural / architectural design expertise on a variety of projects.

The position includes, yet is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Working with our architectural and engineering teams to develop and generate 3-dimensional computer models and 2-dimensional drawings of commercial and industrial structures
  • Preparing design drawings, plans, sections, details, and schedules
  • Coordinating structural modeling and design elements on multidiscipline project teams including Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, Piping/Utilities including assisting in utility routing
  • Coordinating design input and completing markups
  • Initial REVIT model setup
  • Conducting field inspections and verifications

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 – 5 years of structural design/detailing experience with commercial, industrial, or institutional projects. A bachelor's degree is preferred but relevant work experience will be considered in lieu.
  • Proficiency and verifiable professional experience with Revit Structure and AutoCAD
  • Experience with Navisworks or similar multi-discipline clash detection, model review platforms
  • Ability to multi-task and be flexible and adaptable to ever changing project requirements and timelines
  • Ability to uphold the use of standards and escalate issues in a timely fashion
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
  • Experience working with vendors on content download and updates to company standards
  • Experience supporting linked views and others in multiple model situations
  • Experience developing fabrication (LOD 400) level drawing packages is a plus

Travel and working conditions:

  • Work is completed in a newly renovated modern office environment;
  • Limited travel is necessary to support project presentations and site investigations at client sites across Canada; travel is expected to be in the range of 10%- 15% of the time, including occasionally overnight.
