SharePoint Administrator I
Job Summary
The SharePoint Administrator will work alongside our in-house SharePoint Developer to implement various needs within our Microsoft 365 tenant taking direction from the department lead and senior management. At Dennis Group, SharePoint is used in many ways across all departments: as a collaborative project management platform for all of our projects, as a CRM, and as a database for confidential information and documents.
The person in this role will use both UI-based tools and options and command line tools to assist users across Dennis Group with day-to-day SharePoint tasks and site configuration. They will work closely with users to understand Dennis Group’s business needs, and as a team with the SharePoint Developer to identify opportunities for improved data management, workflow automation, and identifying potential areas to leverage AI technology to streamline current work processes.
Responsibilities
- Manage the SharePoint Helpdesk queue in Kaseya BMS.
- Assist users with permissions management, document sharing, and guest account issues across a wide variety of sites.
- Document troubleshooting steps for future reference and use by others.
- Deploy and configure SharePoint sites in both modern and classic formats.
- Add web parts of varying complexity to SharePoint modern pages and customize them according to site users’ needs.
- When necessary, run various PowerShell scripts for site, file, and user management.
- Identify opportunities for process automation or tool development, such as upgrading, building, and maintaining internal SharePoint sites.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Experience And Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
- 2-4 years of experience configuring granular permissions and roles in a data management system. SharePoint-specific experience is ideal, but a modern CRM system such as Salesforce or similar is also sufficient.
- 2-4 years of experience using a command line interface such as Command Prompt, PowerShell, or the macOS Terminal.
- Ability to manage numerous user support requests and site setup projects simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
- Preferred: Experience with the SharePoint and Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) admin centers, API and app authorizations, and Power Automate.
- Preferred: Coding experience with JavaScript/React, HTML, and/or CSS.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift-up to 15 pounds at times.
Travel Requirement
- Potentially up to 5% of travel visiting other offices.
